Resolution passed at the BOD for AFA-CWA
We are pleased to announce that at the AFA-CWA Board of Directors meeting, which just concluded in Las Vegas, passed a resolution that affects local council AFA-CWA LEC90.

WHEREAS, US Airways Council 69, US Airways Council 82, Northwest Airlines Council 90 have had a long history of exceptional representation and unwavering support and dedication to their members and
WHEREAS, Presidents Lynne Caramello, Rob Wessinger and David Carter will be sorely missed and
WHEREAS, loosing those councils will create a void that cannot be replaced.
Therefore be it resolved, in appreciation for their dedicated service and volunteerism for the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA that Councils Numbers 69, 82 and 90 be retired until such time that the two effected airlines reopen the same Councils.
Farewell To The Atlanta Satellite Base
As we bid farewell to the ATL satellite base, the officers of AFA-CWA LEC 90 would like to let you know that it has been a privilege to serve as your elected officials.
Even though the satellite base is closing we will continue our very important DeltaAFA campaign here in Atlanta. To have a successful outcome we still have a lot of hard work ahead of us.
The officers of LEC 90 urge you to become involved. Do not sit back and let someone else control your destiny. Step up and let your voice be heard.
As a group we need to focus on making sure that we all wear our union pins, have AFA bag tags on our luggage, and have positive dialog with our PMDL coworkers. We all must understand the need to have a legal and binding contract and the consequences of not having one.
The Atlanta campaign is key to reaching our goal. We need your help not only with what we have said but to help with a number of campaign functions in the Atlanta area. Please contact one of the LEC officers to discuss your support.
Also we are going to try to keep an Atlanta website up and running as a source of ATL specific information.
Thanks again for your support and we are looking forward to flying with you again someday out of Atlanta.

Cross-Staffing Grievance |
As you know by now the AFA has filed a grievance seeking to stop Delta from cross-staffing aircraft beginning May 2010. Simply this is a means to stop Delta from steamrolling over and violating the scope language in our flight attendant agreement.
This language is part of Section 1 "Recognition, Scope and Job Security." It has kept our jobs secure from the very beginning. It is one of the reasons we have jobs today and has protected us from outsourcing in the past.
Delta's position is that there is no longer a Northwest pilot seniority list in that "operations are now Delta operations and all pilots are Delta pilot’s operatating under a single Delta seniority list." The Delta pilot's agreement does in fact separate the PMNW pilots and PMDL pilots on its pilot seniority list when it comes to the flight operations of the Boeing 747, Airbus 330, and the Boeing 777.
For AFA to sit back and allow this to happen would be neglecting is responsibility to protect our very important scope language. The AFA flight attendant agreement is a legal and binding contract. The operation of the 747 and 330 without PMNW flight attendants is a violation of our agreement. Any change to this agreement would have to be negotiated.
